It was great to catch up with Dennis and Scott this week. This lovely couple visited Casa Dorada last year for the first time and apparently they really liked it! (But then, who wouldn’t) After attending a time share sales presentation, they decided that Casa Dorada was for them.

Their first visit as owners has been great with lots of activities and great weather.

And now I’ll get to see them every year for another 29 years!!!

Let’s see who’s still here in 2039? (It may not go with my plans of early retirement and setting off for a tropical island, but I can come for a visit J).

You know, I was just thinking this week that all of us who make up the team of Casa Dorada are a very lucky bunch! And I guess, no matter how good we have it, we just sometimes forget to appreciate it.

That’s why, every day, I try to think of all the great perks that come with my job (especially when I don’t feel like getting up I the morning!) The obvious suspects come to mind: great views of the sea and Land’s End, fun atmosphere, being a part of the best beachfront resort in Cabo San Lucas… But undoubtedly the number one benefit is being able to meet and chat with so many amazing people!

This week for example, all of us at the Okianus Bar enjoyed the visit of Shannon and Karen. These two señoritas from California stayed with us for a week and had a great time. I think they also enjoyed getting to know our staff, while chilling in the pool with some cold cervezas.

Ann and Ruth just visited Casa Dorada for the second time. I want to thank them personally for giving us a hand here at the Okianus Bar. While hanging out and enjoying the blissful Cabo weather, they also kept an eye on our bills… Cabo vacations are so relaxing that it’s easy for our guests to forget to sign their checks sometimes, but Anna and Ruth kept track of everything!

And it’s not without reason that I bring it up again. Last week, I had a chance to chat with three fun couples, two of which were celebrating their first wedding anniversary with us. Spiros and Julie got married in Greece (!!!) while George and Melina tied the knot in Los Angeles, California. Their friends Dean and Eileen joined them in the celebration and they all seemed to have a wonderful time. Well, with the stunning ocean views, fun atmosphere and unbeatable location, who wouldn’t?

With temperatures in the 90’s, the very best place to be this week, in my opinion, is Casa Dorada’s pool. And to be more specific the Okianus Pool Bar!

David, Brett and Matt will certainly agree with me. Being among my very best clients, this week they really put me to work. Every time they ordered a drink, I had to make something different, and they sure ordered many!!!

In order to quench our guests’ thirst, our staff is constantly on the go. Cerveza, tequila shots, daiquiris, piña coladas all have to flow generously. And considering that we’re the most popular beachfront resort in Cabo San Lucas, we do get busy! One of our waitresses, Vanessa, experienced it firsthand the other day. As she was carrying a tray full of drinks, the wind (blowing a little stronger than usual) flung the whole thing to the ground. Obviously Vanessa got wet and pink and had to change her uniform right away.
